Sony Ericsson has silently launched its smallest Android handset, the Xperia X10 Mini in India.
The phone, which also happens to be one of the smallest Android phone (if not the smallest) available now, features a 2.6 inch QVGA touchscreen, a 600Mhz processor, 128MB of internal memory - expandable to 32GB using microSD cards, Wi-Fi and GPS. It has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash at the rear and features Bluetooth as well as USB connectivity.
The phone does have a disadvantage in the form of a non-removable battery which Sony Ericsson had to add owing to the diminutive size of the phone. The phone is quite a simple looker - but can prove to be a head turner when in public.
The phone, as mentioned earlier, is now on sale in India and is being priced at Rs.15,000 which seems to be a decent price for an entry level Android phone. The price puts in in line with handsets like the Samsung Spica and the HTC Tattoo which hover at around the same price range - and lesser.
The phone is available in various colour options including pearl white, black, pink, lime, red or silver. In the meantime, we are awaiting the launch of the QWERTY keyboard laden X10 Mini PRO too in the near future.
